Update – Early reopening news!

Lyndarum Drive intersection is now open following significant progress by the construction team. Thanks to incredible effort and favourable weather, the team has managed to reopen the road a full week earlier than planned, with customers now able to directly access Epping North Shopping Centre Retailers from Lyndarum Drive and the Epping Road Service Road via Lyndarum Drive while works continue on the northbound lanes. This arrangement is expected to remain in place for around 3–4 weeks. See here for details.

Looking ahead, there will be a couple of additional Epping Road closures coming up - including a daytime closure later this month or in early November. Following this, crews will lay the final road surface on the southbound lanes, which may cause some minor impacts to traffic flow during this period.

Important road upgrades are happening near Epping North Shopping Centre until mid-October 2025.

From 7pm, Wednesday 6th August until mid-October, Lyndarum Drive at Epping Road and Epping Road service road will be closed for the upgrade of the intersection.

The upgrade will include the below:

• Upgrade existing lanes, kerbs and medians.
• Install new drainage and a new traffic island.
• Build new turning lanes in and out of Lyndarum Drive.
• Build sections of the new southbound lanes on Epping Road.
• Add new traffic signals and public lighting.

Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected. During this time, the Epping North SC/Lyndarum Drive bus stop will be closed. There is an alternative Route 356 to Epping Station bus stop located on Hayston Boulevard.

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained via detours, and traffic management will be in place.
